Throughout Kathmandu, Nepal, Montessori schools seem to be everywhere – but in fact they are rarely, if ever, truly Montessori. In addition, the name “Montessori” has become synonymous with “expensive” and these schools are only affordable to rich families. When Bhola Dhital, a very experienced Nepali educator, received his AMI primary diploma from Chennai in 2007, he returned to Kathmandu with a wish to establish a true Montessori environment based on his training. He hopes to provide the best education possible for the local children.

His goal is to serve children from local working families as well as provide scholarships to needy children whose parents are very poor and cannot afford any school fees.Sirjanaa Sansaar, A Montessori School just opened in April, 2008.  Many of the Montessori materials were made by local carpenters, but they are still in need of some special items, such as the math bead materials and the puzzle maps.Bhola is planning to expand rapidly and has many ideas about how to broaden the reach of his school. He is already seeing great changes in the children who attend currently and is excited about the possibilities for the future.  He welcomes visitors and volunteers to the beautiful country of Nepal.
